COVID-19 Response


We've had to make some changes in response to the coronavirus.

Deliveries - are still occurring, with contact free delivery in some areas. While we always strive to give you the best service possible, delays in shipping times are inevitable and we ask that you try your best to be patient with us if they do.

Returns - The 100 Night Trial still stands for all customers, and you'll still be able to request a return as per normal. For some areas, active collections may be on hold depending on advice from the health community as well as lock-down requirements. This decision is not made lightly, and we believe it is the safest option for you, us and our partners.

Macoda will continue to operate. If you have any questions, concerns, or just want some pillow talk, we're always here.

 

Where can I try the mattress?


There’s nothing quite like the comfort of your own home, so we offer a 100 night at-home trial. If you’re not completely satisfied, we’ll take your mattress back and give you a full refund.

 

What bed base can I put my mattress on?


We recommend using the Macoda mattress on any firm, flat surface. It can be put on a spring box, a slatted bed frame (with gaps no bigger than 8cm) or even the floor! The Macoda mattress can also be used on an adjustable bed base.

 

How long does delivery take?


Shipping is always free and available to all of mainland Australia and Tasmania.

We are experiencing delays on some order, so for more accurate information please refer to "Delays" on the mattress page.

These times are general estimates only, and your item may arrive outside of these estimated time frames.

Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane:
2-4 business days.

Canberra, Perth & Adelaide:
3-10 business days.

Non-Metro:
5-10 business days. Certain rural locations may experience longer shipping times.

We aim to dispatch all orders as quickly as possible, and delivery is available Monday - Friday.

How firm is the mattress?


Australia's most comfy mattress sits at around a 5/10 for firmness. With our original "Unzip & Flip" adjustable firmness system, you can make your Macoda firmer, or softer, in the comfort of your own home in just a couple of minutes.

 

How do I change the firmness?


If you want to customise your mattress feel you can do so with our Unzip-and-Flip system.

Start by unzipping the white top quilting, then simply flip or move around the two inserts to find the perfect feel for you.

The Macoda mattress arrives with a medium-soft feel.

- To soften it simply flip the thick, top insert and you're good to go.

- To make your mattress firmer, just take out the thinner bottom insert and put it on top.

Then close it back up and voila!

 

What is a "hybrid" mattress?


Put simply, a hybrid mattress is the best of both worlds. By combining the comfort of foam and support of pocket springs, we are able to produce a perfect "hybrid" mattress... in a box!

 

Is it suitable for side sleepers?


Absolutely! The Macoda mattress is perfect for side sleepers. The 5-Zone pocket spring foundation means you get added support, or give, right where you need it.

 

Do I need to wait before using the mattress?


The mattress may take up to 48 hours to completely expand, but you can start using it straight away and we recommend waiting a few hours before committing to a full night's sleep (if you can resist).

 

How can I clean my mattress?


Our bamboo quilting can be spot-cleaned with warm soapy water, remembering to dry it out completely afterwards. While the Macoda mattress is great on its own, we recommend using a mattress protector to help keep it clean.

 

How can I look after my mattress?


To keep your mattress clean and fresh we recommend using a mattress protector.

To ensure the longevity of your Macoda mattress, we recommend rotating your mattress once a month for the first few months, and just once in a while from then on. You'll never need to flip your Macoda mattress.

 

Is there an odour or off-gassing?


Occasionally new mattresses will have a 'new car smell'. This is known as 'off gassing' and is normal for foam products. It usually goes away pretty soon, but can take up to 48 hours.

The best way to deal with it is with good ventilation and airflow in the room, or even resting the item outside. You can also unzip the mattress to help get air through.

While some may find it unpleasant, the off gassing is harmless and the polyurethane foam used in the matttress is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning it's free from nasties.

 

Does the mattress contain harmful substances?


All our polyurethane foams are CertiPUR-US certified, which means they contain no nasties, including:

  • Made without ozone depleters
  • Made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (”Tris”) flame retardants
  • Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals
  • Made without formaldehyde
  • Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
  • Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million

Our bamboo quilting is also Okeo-Tex certified, meaning it has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.

Each size uses a different number of pocket springs, as follows:

How thick is each layer?


The Macoda mattress has a super comfy 5cm slab of our gel-memory foam, 3cm of high quality latex, and 3cm of durable support foam underneath that.

How much weight can the mattress support?


The Macoda mattress can support roughly 150kg per sleeper. The mattress supports a maximum of 300kg.

 

Can I use an electric blanket?


Yep! Electric blankets can be used on your Macoda mattress. Just make sure you follow any safety guidlines or isntructions for the blanket from the manufacturer.

 

Will other items I ordered arrive separately?


The mattresses and other products are often sent separately and may not arrive together. If they are sent seperately, you'll get unique shipping & tracking information for each item in your order.

 

Can I choose a delivery date?


For metro orders, our delivery team will generally check ahead to schedule delivery with you. Otherwise, we can organise for your mattress to be delviered on a specific day, or have the delivery postponed. For populated non-metro areas, this can also be done as long as it's outside of the delivery time-frames. Specific delivery dates for regional areas may not be possible.

If you do want delivery on certain date, just leave a note on your order or let us know and we'll do our very best to make it happen.

 

How does the 100 Night Trial work?


If you aren't completely satisfied with your Macoda mattress within the 100 night trial period we offer a free return and full refund.

You just need to contact us, then we'll organise for your mattress to be collected and provide a full refund once the pick up is confirmed. We only ask that you give the Macoda mattress 28 nights before making a decision as it takes time for your body to a get used to a new bed.

I purchased the wrong size, what can I do?


If you purchased the wrong size, please let us know as soon as possible.

If your order has not been shipped, we can easily rectify this. If it has been delivered and you have ordered the wrong size, please do not open box. In this case, if the mattress is unopened and in it's original packaging, it may be exchanged for another size while incurring a re-stocking fee. Your mattress won't be eligible for a return if you order the wrong size or wish to change sizes for whatever reason. In any case, please contact us and we will assist however we can.

 

Can I leave a note on my order?


You sure can! Once you add an item to your cart you should notice a section to add notes on the bottom left hand side.

 

How big is the pillow?


The Macoda pillow is 14cm tall, 66cm long and 40cm wide.

 

What material is the pillow?


Our pillow's core is made from high density charcoal-infused memory foam. The cover is made from bamboo fabric.

 

How long does delivery take?


Our pillows are usually sent with Australia Post from Sydney and take 2-8 business days for most areas.

Shipping is FREE Australia wide.

 

Can I wash my pillow?


The bamboo cover can be removed and hand washed with warm soapy water, or machine washed cold on a gentle cycle. The pillow core cannot be washed.

You should still use a pilow case with your Macoda pillow.

 

Is the pillow certified too?


Yes indeedy! All our polyurethane foam, including that in the Macoda Pillow are
CertiPUR-US®-Certified.

That means:

- Minimal off-gassing
- No harmful chemicals
- No formaldehyde
- No ozone depleters
- No PBDE flame retardants
- No heavy metals including mercury or lead
- Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
- All foams meet the standard of fewer than 0.5 parts per million VOC (volatile organic compounds)

The bamboo cover also carries the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification.

That means:

- Interdependently tested for the presence of over 300 harmful substances.

 

How do I tell which side is the cool side?


The white bamboo cover has a tag on one end with a picture of a sun on one side, and snoeflake on the other. Your pillows arrives with the snowflake on the cool side.

To double check, you can also unzip the cover and have a look inside. The pillow inside does have a secondary cover, however, with a close look or feel, you can see which half has the blue glaze cooling glaze on it.

 

Is there a trial for the pillow as well?

 
Yes! To make sure the pillow is the right fit for you, it comes with a 60 Night Trial. If you aren't completely satisfied within the 60 night trial period we offer a free return and full refund.

 

How do returns work?


​In the event of a return, simply contact us. We'll send you a pre-paid return label, and all you need to do is attach it to the box and send it back to us. For non-metro areas, you may be required to cover the cost of postage. If the pillow is damaged, infested or stained it will not be eligible for a return or refund.

Pillows received as free gifts with mattress purchases during a promotion are not eligable for return.

What does it feel like?


The Macoda Pillow is incredibly soft and plush, while remaining supportive. It's perfect for side sleepers and back sleepers alike.

 

How long do they last?


Our pillows are built to last. With a removeble, washable cover, you can keep your pillow fresh for years. Each pillow also comes with a 3 year warranty to guaratee longevity.

 

What is bamboo charcoal?


Bamboo charcoal is the result of burning bamboo at extremely high temperatures. Infusing this into our memory foam pillows means they carry the natural benefits of charcoal, including dissepating heat, eliminating odours, wicking moisutre and temperature regulation for better sleep.

 

What size are Macoda sheets?


Macoda offers sheets & duvet sets in Double, Queen & King sizes. The dimensions are as follows:

Can I return my sheets if I don't like them?


We're sure you'll love them straight away, but just incase we now offer a 60 Night Trial on all our bedding.
In the event of a return, simply contact us. After we've processed it, you'll just need to ship the sheets back to us and once received we'll give you a full refund. If your sheets are damaged, infested or stained it will not be eligible for a return or refund.

Bedding received as a free gift with mattress purchases during a promotion are not eligable for return.

Are the sheets pre-shrunk?


Yes! Our bedding sets are all pre-shrunk. They may shrink a little bit more after a couple of washes.

 

What do they feel like?


Our bamboo sheets are incredibly soft and silky. They feel amazing to the touch and softer than cotton. They are also highly breathable.

 

What is the thread count?


The sheets have a thread count of 375. Don't be fooled though, due to the composition of organic bamboo fabric and our unique Sateen weave, they're actually more breathable, and have a softer feel than regular sheets with 3x the thread count.

 

What are the sheets made from?


The sheets are made from 100% bamboo lyocell fabric. This manufacturing method is highly sustainable and produces amazingly soft sheets.

 

How should I wash my sheets?


- Gentle cold machine wash with mild detergent
- Do not bleach
- Tumble dry only on low heat. Line drying is recommend
- Iron on a cool setting
- Fabric softener is not recommended

 

Does the mattress contain harmful substances?


Our bamboo sheets are Okeo-Tex certified, meaning it has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.

 

Is there warranty on the sheets?


Macoda offers warranty on all its bamboo bedding for a period of 1 year from the day of delivery. This warranty covers defects in workmanship or materials. If you believe your Macoda bedding should be assessed for warranty claim please contact us.

I only received part of my order?


No need to worry, products often arrive separately. If you haven’t received your tracking information for individual products, please contact us and we will assist.

 

Do you take my old mattress away?


We offer a delivery only service, and are unable to remove your old mattress. If it is in good condition, we encourage you to contact local charities about donating the mattress. Otherwise, recycling companies operate in most metro areas and will collect your old bed for a small fee.

 

Can you deliver on weekends?


In most areas delivery is available Monday – Friday.
In some metro areas Saturday delivery may be available.

 

Will you take the mattress inside for me?


For health and safety reasons, most deliveries are a to door service. However this does change depending on your delivery person and area. If you require assistance getting the mattress inside, please contact us.

 

I live in an apartment, how does delivery work?


Delivery to apartments is no problem at all, you will just need to ensure our delivery partners have access to an elevator and suitable onsite parking.

 

What if I'm not home for delivery?


If you are not home at the time of delivery, we will return the item to the nearest depot and attempt re-delivery at a later date. If you are happy for the item to be left with no on home, just provide an Authority to Leave (ATL) on your order notes, or let the delivery team know.

 

What do I do if there's a delay?


If you believe there's a delay or delivery issue with your order, please contact us.

 

My tracking says 'delivered' but it hasn't been?


If you have received a 4 digit tracking number and are located in a non-metro area, a tracking status indicating “delivered” generally means your order has been passed onto a country onforwarding agent who is responsible for deliveries in your area. Your order shouldn’t be too far away!

 

Can I return my item if I don't like it?


The Macoda Mattress comes with a 100 Night Trail. If you aren't in love with your mattress at any time during the trial, we'll collect it and give you a full refund.

Macoda Pillows & Sheets also have a 60 Night Trial, so if you don't love them and you wish to return yours just let us know.

What happens to my returned mattress?


We never resell any returned mattress. All returned mattresses are either donated to our friends at the Salvation Army or in some cases recycled.

 

What if my item is damaged?


If your item has arrived damaged please contact us. If you can provide photos of the damage that will help us rectify the issue quicker.

Don't stress, as the Macoda Mattress is covered under a 10 year warranty, the Macoda Pillow under a 3 year warranty, and our bamboo bedding is under a 50 day warranty.

 

What happens if I'm not in a collection zone?


Please be aware that it might be the case that our partners are unable to operate a collection in your area. If this is the case, we'll let you know and we'll do our best to find alternative arrangements. However, in some rural areas this won't be possible and the return becomes the responsibility of the customer. To process your refund all we will need is evidence that your mattress has been donated to a suitable charity organisation.

Can I return my free pillows?


If you have received pillows with your mattress as part of a promotional offer, please note that the 60 night trail does not apply and refunds on the pillow cannot be processed.
